Direct quotations from one text within another, or any quotation in general that needs to be placed in a different paragraph within another, are indicated with <quote>:

<p>ὁ δὲ ἔφη δεκαεννέα μοιρῶν περὶ τὰς συνουσίας οὐσῶν τὴν μὲν ἐννέα ἄνδρας ἥδεσθαι, τὰς δὲ δέκα γυναῖκας. ὅθεν Ἥρα μὲν αὐτὸν ἐτύφλωσε, Ζεὺς δὲ τὴν μαντικὴν αὐτῷ ἔδωκεν.

A <quote> can contain any type of text, in prose or verse, and will be tagged with the corresponding structure.

But if, in addition to the quoted text, we need the quotation to include the bibliographic reference of that text, we use the <cit>tag, which will include the <quote> with the text and a <bibl> with the referencecf. <bibl>). In this way:

Editions of fragmentary texts must include one of these <cit> for each edited fragment (cf. Structure of a Fragmentary Text). But they can also appear in the context of our commentaries.

The internal order of the <quote> and <bibl> tags within a <cit> is free, and they can appear as needed for each context:
