{"id":1364,"date":"2021-02-13T15:08:24","date_gmt":"2021-02-13T14:08:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thebarumfabula.usc.es\/guidelines\/etiquetas-importantes\/ref\/"},"modified":"2021-03-31T12:06:33","modified_gmt":"2021-03-31T10:06:33","slug":"ref","status":"publish","type":"docs","link":"https:\/\/thebarumfabula.usc.es\/en\/guidelines\/etiquetas-importantes\/ref\/","title":{"rendered":"Links and cross-references:"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To add a link to a web page or to any internet address, either external or internal to our website, we will use the tag <code data-enlighter-language=\"xml\" class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\">&lt;ref&gt;<\/code>, with the following structure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\" data-enlighter-language=\"xml\" data-enlighter-theme=\"\" data-enlighter-highlight=\"\" data-enlighter-linenumbers=\"\" data-enlighter-lineoffset=\"\" data-enlighter-title=\"\" data-enlighter-group=\"\">&lt;ref type=\"url\" target=\"http:\/\/elpais.com\">Diario El Pa\u00eds&lt;\/ref>\n\n&lt;ref type=\"url\" target=\"http:\/\/thebarumfabula.usc.es\/guidelines\/\">Thebarum Fabula - Gu\u00eda de Etiquetado&lt;\/ref>.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>And if we want to make a cross-reference to any element in our document, we must first make sure that the element has its <code data-enlighter-language=\"generic\" class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\">@xml:id<\/code> set, then we point to it from the <code data-enlighter-language=\"xml\" class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\">@target<\/code> of the <code data-enlighter-language=\"xml\" class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\">&lt;ref><\/code> (always preceded by <code data-enlighter-language=\"xml\" class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\">#<\/code>), which here will have a <code data-enlighter-language=\"xml\" class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\">@type=\"cross\"<\/code>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, within a <a href=\"http:\/\/thebarumfabula.usc.es\/en\/guidelines\/referencias-bibliograficas\/\" data-type=\"docs\" data-id=\"1263\">bibliographic reference<\/a> <code data-enlighter-language=\"xml\" class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\">&lt;bibl&gt;<\/code>, thus:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\" data-enlighter-language=\"xml\" data-enlighter-theme=\"\" data-enlighter-highlight=\"\" data-enlighter-linenumbers=\"\" data-enlighter-lineoffset=\"\" data-enlighter-title=\"\" data-enlighter-group=\"\">&lt;bibl>\n\t&lt;author>Courtney, C.&lt;\/author>\n\t&lt;title level=\"a\">cf. conjectures in &lt;ref type=\"cross\" target=\"#Hill1983\"\/>&lt;\/title>\n&lt;\/bibl><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Or within the declaration of a <code data-enlighter-language=\"xml\" class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\">&lt;witness&gt;<\/code> that contains a <em><a href=\"http:\/\/thebarumfabula.usc.es\/en\/guidelines\/listwit\/siglas-para-consensus-codicum\/\" data-type=\"docs\" data-id=\"1330\">consensus codicum<\/a><\/em> detailing which manuscripts it is composed of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\" data-enlighter-language=\"xml\" data-enlighter-theme=\"\" data-enlighter-highlight=\"\" data-enlighter-linenumbers=\"\" data-enlighter-lineoffset=\"\" data-enlighter-title=\"\" data-enlighter-group=\"\">&lt;witness xml:id=\"cett\">\n\t&lt;abbr type=\"siglum\">cett.&lt;\/abbr>\n\tceteri codices aut omnes praeter eos qui separatim laudantur: &lt;ref type=\"cross\" target=\"#A\"\/>, &lt;ref type=\"cross\" target=\"#B\"\/> et &lt;ref type=\"cross\" target=\"#F\"\/>\n&lt;\/witness><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>As we can see from the examples, it has two obligatory attributes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><code data-enlighter-language=\"xml\" class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\">@type<\/code>: the type of link it is. If it is an internet address, the value is <code data-enlighter-language=\"xml\" class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\">\"url\"<\/code>, and if it is a cross-reference, the value is <code data-enlighter-language=\"xml\" class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\">\"cross\"<\/code>.<\/li><li><code data-enlighter-language=\"xml\" class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\">@target<\/code>: the actual address to which the link points. In internet addresses it is enough to cite the complete URL of the linked site; in cross-references the <code data-enlighter-language=\"xml\" class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\">@xml:id<\/code> of the referenced element is referred to. In the latter case, never forget the initial hash (<code data-enlighter-language=\"xml\" class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\">#<\/code>) before the value of <code data-enlighter-language=\"xml\" class=\"EnlighterJSRAW\">@xml:id<\/code>.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the tag may or may not have its own content node, as shown in the examples. In the case of internet links it will be the text that you want to be displayed in the final presentation (the name of the linked website or the desired text).
